We hate doing another update so soon, but this news is too good not to share right away. We got our production sample today for final approval. It looked AMAZING! Take a look!
We have spent a lot of time putting together a high quality plastic insert. We are double checking that sleeved cards will still fit along with the expansions. What do you think?

Hello backers. It's been a bit since our last update, but we were waiting until we had some news to share.
Production samples are on their way to us to ensure everything will fit into the box and the components feel right. It's always exciting to get these samples. We have done all of our beta testing using Tabletopia due to the pandemic and getting a real physical copy in our hands feels like a success. Thanks for your support. We couldn't have done it without you.
The samples are sent air freight and in the past it has taken less than a week to arrive, but there are still substantial shipping delays. The manufacturer or shipping can't give us an accurate arrival date.
We will share pictures when the samples arrive.
There was already a freight backlog due to Covid 19 over the past year followed by a surge of imports into the USA (people are buying again!). We and our freight agent were confident at the time of our Kickstarter campaign that the backlog would be gone by the fall. The delta variant has already caused the partial closure of several ports in China (the most recent was Ningbo-Zhoushan eight days ago). Our freight agent is now expressing concern that our timeline may be both logistically and financially feasible. The shipping container prices shot up 500% a few weeks ago but have started to slip back down.
What does this mean? Honestly, our confidence that we will get your games to you by December is looking very low. We HATE this. We have never missed a delivery deadline before. However, we feel it's important to be honest with all of you. There is a slim chance it may still happen, but with Covid 19 going the wrong direction, the odds are getting lower each day.
So, when will you get your game? Our freight agent can't give us a guarantee. However, the hope is that the freight demand will decrease by the end of the year, giving us the opportunity to get our games to our distributors worldwide. This would put us in the late February timeline.
We are sorry for the delays and promise to do whatever we can to get your games to you as early as possible.
Now onto to more positive news. We are launching our next Kickstarter project, Backyard Chickens, next week on August 24th. Backyard Chickens is a deck-building game for two to five players in which you compete to raise the best flock of chickens.
Many of us have tested Backyard Chickens with players who have never played a deck builder before. The integration of the theme and mechanics makes the game easy to learn. Best of all, the game is a lot of fun.
Backyard Chickens is being manufactured with Rise of the Gnomes (yes, we counted our chickens before they hatched). We are offering FREE shipping for Backyard Chickens to all Rise of the Gnomes backers who are getting a physical copy of the game.

The final production files are in the hands of the manufacturer but we have a few more days on the Rulebook. I have posted the Benefactor names in the Rule books.
